A Night of Good Desserts at the Heny Sison Culinary School

The Heny Sison Culinary School just had their graduation dinner last week. The school hosted the student's relatives and Chef Heny's guests to try the dishes and desserts prepared by the graduating students themselves. It is the 32nd batch of graduates taking the culinary course and the 27th batch of their baking and pastry course. It was a night of good food and delicious desserts to say the least!

Strawberry Shortcake

Mint Macaroons

Empress Torte

The Empress Torte really caught my eye. Beautifully presented, the gold dust on shaved chocolate made it seem like a dessert for kings.

My First Plate

There were at least 15 different desserts to choose from in the buffet. Of course, I tried each and every one of them. However, one stood out from the rest, the chocolate macaroon (right). It has a very delicate outer shell, but a very moist and tasty filling. I wondered what gave it such a unique flavor until I learned that it had chili flakes as an ingredient, now who would have thought of that?
